Patricia Vasylchuk is a local Ottawa photographer specializing in unique portrait photography using props and elements of the environment around her subject(s). Her personal style is beautiful posed photos that are artistic and completely unlike traditional studio portraiture. Preferring to shoot outside on-location, Patricia offers her clients personal photo sessions at various locations in, and around, the National Capital Region. In some cases, such as photos of baby, Patricia offers in-studio sessions using a backdrop.

Two things led Patricia to discover how happy it makes her to be behind the lens. First, her background in journalism naturally led her to explore photojournalism and other types of photography. It was then that she uncovered her natural eye for composition and the sense of accomplishment she felt when she finished editing a perfect photograph.
Secondly, after a dissapointing experience with the photog who shot her own wedding pics, Patricia realized she could do it better. So from there she began to build a portfolio, and soon after began to offer a personal photography service that delivers a creative, beautiful product with out the frustration between.
Her bold take-charge personality allows her not to shy away from looking silly to get the perfect shot. She launched Patricia Vas Photography in 2008 and continues to be her friends' and family's private paparazzi.
